Vet Visit

Today Lamech and a vet from Masaka will visit all the goats that we've purchased and vaccinated them against pneumonia and give them a strong dewormer. A shop owner from Nyahuka will arrive in Masaka with his truck and it will be transformed into an animal shelter on wheels. They will divide the truck bed into sections with poles and dividers. Then they will cover the bottom of the truck with soft grasses. Food and water for the journey will be collected. They will start to load the goats tomorrow morning before the sun is up!

Unicef delivers

On Good Friday, Unicef delivered several boxes of therapeutic milk, oral rehydration solution, and other supplies to help with feeding of and care for malnourished children. Pray that we would be good stewards of these supplies. Pray for children like little Birungi Swizen (pictured), so sick he breaks your heart. Pray that he and others like him would recover, and go on to survive and thrive.

Easter Eggs

Remember Vumiliya? The sweet child with the very sick mother who received a dairy goat? Well, her mother is doing better, well enough to bring Vumiliya to the health center to receive beans and eggs and to get ARV drugs~ What a happy day when we can give nutritious easter eggs away!

Home visit

This guy doesn't look very happy! A few weeks ago I visited the homes of some of our nutrition patients. This is Tugume Yoas, his mother is preparing food for him, provided by one of the outpatient feeding centers. Yoas was slightly below the growth curve when he came into the program, and looks better every day, thanks to the love and care of his mother.

Shelling Nuts

As we demonstrated the Universal Nut Sheller to visitors from the U.S. and for the small trading center of Busunga (situated half a mile from the DRC), I was reminded of the generosity of the Full Belly Project in providing two shellers free of charge. We pray that the sheller will make life easier for many people, including Aisha, the woman who is the steward of the sheller. She is a very hard working farmer.
